Robotics Technology Comes To Life At The 2006 International CES

ARLINGTON, Va.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Aug. 4, 2005— The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) today announced that it is partnering with Robotics Trends to feature robotics technology at the 2006 International CES, the world's largest tradeshow for consumer technology. The 2006 International CES will be held January 5-8, 2006 in Las Vegas.

As part of the focus on robotics technology at the 2006 International CES, Robotics Trends will produce a conference program and a Robotics TechZone at the Sands Expo and Convention Center. These events will showcase the hottest new robotics technologies and products.

"Robotics is a hot emerging technology. As such, it fits perfectly as a key component of CES' Innovations Plus at the Sands," said Karen Chupka, vice president of conferences and events for the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the producer of the International CES. "Our show is the launch pad for new technologies, such as robotics, and adding it to our lineup this year is one example of why the International CES continues to be a must-attend event."

"We are thrilled to be bringing our robotics expertise to the 2006 International CES," said Eliot Weinman, CEO and co-founder of Robotics Trends. "The inclusion of this dedicated robotics event is a clear indicator that robotics has arrived as a significant new consumer electronics market."

The Robotics TechZone joins 12 other emerging technology focused high-profile displays at the Innovations Plus at the Sands. These TechZones showcase the future of consumer electronics across a range of hot categories, including Bluetooth, Cardio Play, Consumer VoIP, Digital Living Network Alliance, IPTV, Launch, Portable Audio, Portable Power, Studio@Home, Wireless USB, Wired USB and Zigbee Alliance. Other Innovations Plus at the Sands features include the International CES Innovations 2006 Design and Engineering Awards Showcase, Industry Insider conference sessions and a digital imaging event, Flash Forward 3.0, on Friday, January 6.

To ensure that all attendees have the opportunity to experience Innovations Plus at the Sands, the show floor will open an hour earlier than other CES venues at 8:00 a.m. throughout the show.
