EMT Software Ships New SolidMech Release

Version 3.3 Has Millions of New Parts

Quicker Ways to Use Library

BELLINGHAM, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 14, 2001--EMT Software, Inc., announced today that it is now shipping a new release of SolidMech, a mechanical parts library for SolidWorks 2000, 2001 and 2001 Plus.

Version 3.3 features millions of new mechanical parts plus a new method for downloading parts from www.partsworks.com for use directly in SolidWorks. EMT Software claims that this is the most advanced release of SolidMech in the product's four year history.

Expanded Parts Library Now One of Largest Available

SolidMech 3.3 includes new types of parts such as spur gears, self-tapping screws, pipe fittings, electric motor and solenoid assembles, and linear motion systems. Thirteen new manufacturer catalogs also have been added, bringing the total up to 50. The expansion of the mechanical parts library makes SolidMech 3.3 one of the largest parts library plug-in programs for SolidWorks.

A new feature called Direct Download allows SolidMech users with high speed Internet connections to download ready-made parts from www.partsworks.com and place them directly into SolidWorks. The new feature is especially useful for large complex assemblies such as linear motion systems. It can take SolidMech three minutes or more to create complex assemblies from scratch, but with Direct Download, complex parts can be transferred in seconds.

SolidMech-- What is it?

SolidMech 3.3 is a comprehensive parts library of standard fasteners, bearings and steel shapes, as well as a growing number of parts from manufacturers' catalogs. It is a plug-in for SolidWorks 2000, 2001 and 2001Plus. The program is a Gold Partner application that creates parts parametrically inside SolidWorks from tables based on industry standards and manufacturers' catalogs.

Standards supported are ANSI, ISO, DIN and JIS. Additional parts libraries are based on fifty manufacturers' catalogs including PEM, NSK, SKF, Globe, Torrington, THK, Thomson, Pacific Scientific, Detroit Coil and Unicorp. SolidMech 3.3 includes bolts, screws, washers, pins, nuts, steel shapes, gears, fittings, linear motion systems, solenoid and motor assemblies and much, much more.
