CIMdata Ranks Surfware Among 10 Most Rapidly-Growing Companies

(Westlake Village, California, USA, July 8, 2003) CIMdata, an independent industrial research and analysis service, recently released their NC Software and Related Services Market Assessment Report (Ver 12, 2003), providing the most comprehensive market analysis available in the industry. The report documents Surfware’s steady revenue increase over the past year and projects an even more significant increase during 2003. CIMdata comments “This growth rate has positioned Surfware among the 10 most rapidly-growing companies in both 2002 and projected for 2003. In addition, Surfware is listed among the top ten vendors in terms of seats shipped per year and total number of seats installed.”

Also covered in the 2003 report was Surfware’s patent pending technology, Step Reduction Milling. SRM is a machining operation that automates and optimizes the Z-level rough milling process when machining complex multiple surfaces. Included in the report were detailed explanations of the product’s philosophy, functionality and comparisons with other roughing methodologies. CIMdata commented on the new technology, “CIMdata believes that this function provides Surfware with leading edge technology in this important segment of machining that will bring significant benefits to users.”
Along with providing in-depth analysis of how the product works, CIMdata provided insight into the future impact of the product on the marketplace. According to the report, “SRM has the potential of superceding rest roughing, currently a commonly-used technique, as the method of choice for stepwise removal of remaining material in rough machining”. The report goes on to point out “[SRM] tends to obviate the requirement for feed rate optimization software”.

The Market Assessment Report includes extensive information on the market size, trends and segmentation, authoritative rankings of NC software vendors, and results of targeted market surveys.
