Unique 2D/3D approach to design development gets further enhancements

Toronto, Canada, March 13, 2003 – Alias|Wavefront™, an SGI (NYSE: SGI) company, is now shipping release 10.1 of StudioToolsTM, the company’s computer-aided industrial design (CAID) software. StudioTools 10.1 has been tuned to include workflow enhancements for 2D paint functions, more 3D modeling flexibility and improved data connectivity.

Modeling improvements in StudioTools 10.1 accelerate the designers’ workflow, make modeling tasks easier and enhance overall modeling efficiency. For example the blend curve edit tool is improved to support rapid curve modifications.

Design and Engineering Collaboration
To assist in the close collaboration needed between designers and engineers, StudioTools 10.1 supports the newest version of the PTC® GraniteTM ONE Interoperability Kernel, allowing even better data exchange between PTC’s engineering software and StudioTools. StudioTools 10.1 also supports seamless data exchange to Unigraphics® NX 1.0 on Windows® and SGI® IRIX® platforms.
