City of Greeley, CO Announces Release of Online Mapping System - FLEX Development

January 15, 2009 -- The City of Greeley’s Geographic Information System (GIS) Program is pleased to announce the public release of its dynamic new online mapping application.  City staff branded the new application: Online Resource for Interactive Greeley INformation (ORIGIN © ).  This first release is a property information tool for public use.  The City takes a technological leap forward with this release by leveraging technology from ESRI’s geospatial tools and Adobe’s FLEX development environment.

This application is a fast and visually rich interactive map that provides road map displays and allows users to custom define transparent overlays using the City’s color aerial imagery.  The Property Information Map includes an intuitive set of tools to allow users to locate addresses, query parcel locations, view Weld County Assessor data and identify city service information like city zoning classifications, fire station response areas, city council wards and high school, middle school or elementary school attendance areas.

The City’s GIS Program developed this application to give the public new and better information via web tools, literally at their finger tips.  Residents and others are invited to visit www.greeleygov.com/gis to access the GIS web site and a link to ORIGIN.  Or directly enter http://gis.greeleygov.com/origin/propinfo.html to enter ORIGIN’s Property Information Map.

The City’s GIS Manager, Brian Sullivan, may be contacted for more information about ORIGIN at (970) 350-9787 or Email Contact.
