WAKEFIELD, R.I., USA, February 20, 2003 – Boothroyd Dewhurst, Inc., today announced it will host the eighteenth-annual International Forum on Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA), on June 17-18, 2003. The DFMA Forum will take place at the Hyatt Regency Newport Hotel, Newport, R.I., USA.
The International Forum on DFMA is the foremost conference worldwide on early design analysis methodologies and implementation. Conference papers will discuss specific product development programs and examine cost reductions and efficiency gains at some of the world’s leading manufacturing companies, such as Raytheon, Hewlett-Packard Company, Harley-Davidson Motor Company, and Visteon Corporation, among others.
Experts in product design will discuss recent DFMA applications in detail and focus on major issues in manufacturing, including training and implementation, automatic assembly, engineering design quality, product development metrics and team recognition, modularization, process manufacturing, and collaboration with suppliers on DFMA goals.
In addition to the papers, the 2003 Forum will feature a panel discussion on DFMA and outsourcing. The title for the panel is “Effective Product Design and Cost Reduction in an Outsourcing Environment.”
The DFMA Forum is a valuable resource for everyone involved in the design-to-manufacturing process, including product designers, manufacturing engineers, automation specialists, and management, marketing, and purchasing personnel. More information is available at www.dfma.com/forum/index.html.
