The Matrox Parhelia graphics card (available in 128MB and 256MB configurations) is packed with features that aid in decreasing design time and help users catch design flaws. One of these features is Surround Design—hardware accelerated 3D on one, two or three monitors. Surround Design is ideal for spreading out application windows that would otherwise need to be overlapped or minimized on a single display. For example, with Surround Design, an engineer can view a piece of an assembly on one display while the 2D schematic is displayed on another screen using SolidWorks’ standard 3-View feature. A third monitor can be used to display palettes and additional application windows, such as a training document or collaboration tool, or to keep an eye on incoming email.

The ability to view separate application windows at the same time reduces the need for scrolling and window switching, tasks that significantly reduce productivity and ease of use. What’s more, the Matrox Parhelia’s UltraSharp Display Output Technology ensures that displayed images are free of any pixel ghosting, sparkling or shadowing artifacts.
