Altair Engineering Achieves Qualification for PBS Professional as Intel Cluster-Ready

Altair Focused on Making PBS Professional Simple to Deploy within Intel-based Computing Environments

TROY, Mich, June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Altair Engineering announced today its leading on-demand computing software environment PBS Professional has achieved qualification for the Intel(R) Cluster Ready program. The validation of Altair's PBS Professional as "Intel Cluster Ready" will provide customers a simplified system for easily managing compute clusters built with Intel processor-based servers.

The Intel Cluster Ready program makes it easier to design, build, sell, program, acquire and deploy clusters by specifying a common basis for clusters. This ensures an unprecedented level of interoperability between software and hardware components. By participating in the Intel Cluster Ready program, Altair is proving its commitment to provide customers a unified cluster solution to reduce costs and increase productivity for clusters, grids and on-demand computing.

"Achieving Intel Cluster Ready status is another example of Altair's commitment to simplify the deployment of technology solutions for our customers," said Michael Humphrey, Vice President of Partner Programs for Altair. "PBS Professional is an enabling technology that allows customers to maximize the utility of their hardware and software resources. Our participation in the Intel Cluster Ready program confirms that PBS Professional is ready to run on clusters built with Intel components."

"Industry support for Intel(R) Cluster Ready continues to grow and Intel welcomes Altair's achievement," said Bill Magro, director, High Performance Computing Solutions, Intel Corporation Software and Solutions Group. "We're excited Altair's popular PBS Professional is demonstrated compatible as it simplifies the integration of Intel Cluster Ready systems into grid and on-demand computing environments powered by Altair."
