The Cryodynamics Division is a project-based, engineer-to-order supplier of submerged electric-powered pumps and power recovery turbine generators. Cryodynamics pumps are designed to handle liquefied gases with a pumping temperature ranging from ambient to cryogenic. The pumps are used in a wide variety of land-based and marine installations. Ebara International is a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Ebara Corp., which has 107 subsidiaries and 17 associated companies throughout the world.

"We were looking for an enterprise software package that would enable us to better manage complex, multiyear ETO projects, and after evaluating several leading vendors, we found that IFS offers the strongest solution on the market," said Joel Madison, chief executive officer of Ebara International. "IFS Applications will allow us to more efficiently track product specifications and documentation, which individually can be thousands of pages long. We'll also be able to streamline the quotation process -- which typically takes about a year -- while converting more quotations to wins."

"At IFS, we've been developing applications for complex engineered products for over 20 years," said Cindy Jaudon, president and CEO of IFS North America. "We provide the experience and the industry-specific tools to help engineer-to-order machinery manufacturers become leaner, more agile, and better equipped to deliver their products on budget, on time, every time."

Industrial manufacturing is one of IFS' targeted vertical markets. IFS has a broad customer base in the industry, focusing on medium- to large-size manufacturers that need support for complex order-driven and mixed-mode manufacturing across the extended enterprise. With strong support for project management, engineering, constraint-based scheduling, product configuration, and after-sales support, IFS' business solution helps companies improve quality, contain costs, and improve their competitive position in manufacturing industry segments such as machinery, defense, fabricated metal products, and plastic products. Industrial manufacturing companies also benefit from IFS' lifecycle management solution, which goes beyond product lifecycle management (PLM) to provide better integration and management of three critical business areas-products, customers, and resources-throughout their lifecycles.

IFS customers in the industrial manufacturing industry include Bombardier Transportation, Aker Yards, Deere & Co., Roper, Dresser-Rand, Gehl, Remmele Engineering, and Johnson Pump.
