McKeown brings extensive manufacturing experience and software architecture expertise to Plexus Systems. He has deep knowledge of "sequencing" and was a lead designer and developer for large sequencing projects within the manufacturing industry. With his skills, McKeown will provide Plexus Online with greater functionality for shop floor control, traceability, quality management, EDI, accounting and many other capabilities.
Prior to Plexus Systems, McKeown worked for Chrysler Corporation in the Telecommunications and Scientific Labs group in Auburn Hills, Mich. and Phoenix, Ariz. In 1996, he joined Textron (Troy, Mich.) where he designed a sequencing system and managed the manufacturing systems group. In 2003, he was named chief architect at VIA Technologies where he developed a software platform that major Tier-1 companies use for MES, sequencing and genealogy.
McKeown learned his specialized skills at the Devry Institute of Technology in Phoenix, Arizona. He earned one international manufacturing patent, and he has another pending U.S. patent for software. For his contributions at both Chrysler Corporation and Textron, he won corporate innovation and excellence awards.
