Dassault Systemes Appoints ENOVIA CEO

PARIS—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Feb. 1, 2006— Dassault Systemes (Nasdaq: DASTY, Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, has announced the appointment of Patrick Romich as CEO of its ENOVIA brand. Mr. Romich, who assumed his role on January 4, 2006 will be responsible for the worldwide management of the ENOVIA business and operations, reporting to Bernard Charles, president & chief executive officer of Dassault Systemes. He will be based at ENOVIA's Charlotte, North Carolina, headquarters. ENOVIA is the DS brand for product lifecycle information management and decision support in the Dassault Systemes PLM portfolio of solutions.

Since ENOVIA's inception in 1998, the role of CEO has been filled by Joel Lemke, who has also been General Manager for DS' PLM Americas organization since 2003. The appointment of Mr. Romich, an accomplished software executive, to the strategic leadership of the ENOVIA brand will allow Mr. Lemke to focus on his executive role of building the PLM Americas team, and capitalize upon the significant growth opportunities in the Americas region.

"The ENOVIA product line, adopted by over 4,200 customers around the world, has seen tremendous growth since its inception in 1998 and is a critical component of the DS PLM offering. It is because of this success, and the importance of this area in the overall DS strategy, that Joel and I agreed that the time was right to expand our senior management team in this key area," said Bernard Charles, president & chief executive officer of Dassault Systemes. "It is a testament to the strength of DS in this area and the overall PLM market that we were able to attract someone of Patrick's caliber to join our executive team."

Mr. Romich is an accomplished software industry business executive with significant international experience in business development, direct and indirect sales, marketing, and executive management. As well as leading technology corporations, he has significant accomplishments in managing rapid growth in the technology sector.

Mr. Romich most recently served as an Entrepreneur in Residence with Warburg Pincus, LLC, where he was involved in sourcing deals in the engineering content space for the firm. He has served as chief executive officer for Synchronicity Software, Inc. and as CEO for IQXPERT. During his 17-year career with Information Handling Services Group, (IHS), he held a number of increasingly responsible positions in sales and marketing, eventually being named president of the Engineering Division. He then became president of PartMiner, Inc. when IHS sold the IQXPERT business to PartMiner. Mr. Romich received his B.S. Degree in Business and Management in 1982 from Wilkes University, Wilkes Barre, PA.
