Software Magazine Ranks PLM Vendor as One of the World's Leading Software Companies for Third Consecutive Year
In 2004, Agile Software grew revenue 36.6% to $96.3 million. The company continued its momentum among enterprises in the electronics and high tech, life sciences, automotive, consumer products and manufacturing industries. The company also experienced tremendous success with the release of Agile Advantage 2005, a PLM solution designed specifically to meet the needs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Customer wins in 2004 included Bayer HealthCare's US Consumer Care Division, Rheinmetall, Invitrogen, Optovia and Synthon, among others.

The Software 500 is a revenue-based ranking of the world's largest software and services suppliers targeting medium to large enterprises, and their IT professionals, software developers and business managers involved in software and services purchasing. The list includes both private and public companies; 28% of the 2004 Software 500 companies are private.
The ranking is based on total worldwide software and service revenue for 2004. This includes revenues from software licenses, maintenance and support, training and software-related services and consulting. Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware.
