Omnify 3.0 Accelerates Product Development And Provides Greater Collaboration For Manufacturers

New Product Release from Omnify Software Delivers Superior Product Lifecycle Management Capabilities with Enhanced Performance, Dynamic Workflows and Extended User Permissions

WILMINGTON, Mass.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Sept. 26, 2005— Omnify Software, a leading provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software for mid-market electronic, medical, mechanical, and defense OEMs, today announced the newest version of its award-winning PLM product. Omnify 3.0 enhances the performance and capabilities of the PLM solution to enable more efficient collaboration in product development.

This version incorporates customer-requested enhancements that accelerate and streamline the product development process even further. With Omnify 3.0 customers will realize faster performance in searching, bill of material loading and engineering change releases in addition to easier importing and exporting of data through XML capabilities.

"It is somewhat difficult to cover all the advantages in Omnify 3.0," stated Bridget Koloseus, CM Manager for Optical Air Data Systems. "Structuring of the permission levels ensures access and data integrity are maximized with very little day-to-day administration and the new BOM fields allow us to automatically import and export reports that correlate to the assembly drawings generated by CAD systems, giving us a means for providing essential contract manufacturing data in one report."

Included in Omnify 3.0 are several improvements to support the simplified product development process customers require, such as:

-- Accelerated performance for faster BOM loading, saving, releasing changes, and searching;

-- Vendor part composition fields allowing unlimited vendor attributes, a significant feature for organizations required to meet RoHS and other environmental compliance regulations;

-- Enhanced permissions offering extended field/attribute and project level permissions;

-- Improved document vaulting and new caching options;

-- Attribute Groups for easy field navigation;

-- New bill of material fields including: balloon/find numbers, alternate items fields, and user-defined attribute fields;

-- Condition-based dynamic workflows allowing users to define generic workflows/stages and user assignments based on various field parameters;

-- New XML file formats enabling easy importing and exporting of item and database schema information.

"Omnify 3.0 builds on the strength of our solution with overall increased performance and it incorporates over 100 enhancement requests from customers," said Chuck Cimalore, CTO of Omnify. "The new workflow engine and extended user permission provide customers with better methods for securing their data and tracking product development."
