Eigner Introduces Requirements Management And MRO Capabilities To Its Product Lifecycle Management Solution

Provides Manufacturing Organizations With Added Functionality To Manage The Complete Product Lifecycle

WALTHAM, MA -- (INTERNET WIRE) -- 01/21/2002 -- Eigner, a leading developer of precision product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions, today announced two new solutions aimed at helping manufacturers develop, deliver and service high-quality, complex, engineered and manufactured products.

Available now, Eigner's Requirements Management and Traceability (RMT) and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) solutions enable manufacturing organizations to manage even the most complex product development projects throughout an entire product lifecycle from initial customer requirements to post-manufactured service and support.

"Increasingly, manufacturers are pressured to provide superior post-delivery support for capital equipment and complex products with long service lifecycles. Additionally, customers are demanding that products meet their stringent specifications to achieve desired performance characteristics. Critical to realizing this level of customer service is the ability to manage how the product is conceptualized, designed, planned, delivered and maintained," said Paul Giaconia, vice president of product marketing at Eigner. "Eigner's new RMT and MRO capabilities provide organizations with the solution to address inefficiencies associated with capturing and managing constantly changing customer requirements and servicing complex products once they are delivered to customers."

With Eigner RMT, manufacturers can extend product definition to include customer, marketing and engineering requirements along with traditional product content such as items, bills-of-material (BOMs), documentation and configurations. Eigner RMT manages relationships between the requirements, the design and the implementation of a system in order to manage the effect of changes and ensure the success of the delivered product.

Eigner MRO enables manufacturers of capital equipment or complex products with long service lifecycles to manage maintenance and repair histories, allowing organizations to track all modifications made to a specific product or group of products in the field. Eigner MRO is tightly integrated with Eigner's CMII-certified configuration management engine, allowing full, serialized traceability through re-work and field modifications. Eigner MRO features part number histories, time change tracking items, and the ability to compare "As Delivered" to "As Maintained" product structures.

Eigner's Requirements Management and Traceability and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul solutions are available now as part of Eigner axalant2000 Service Pack 3. (For more information, see related release, "Eigner Announces Availability of axalant2000 Service Pack 3," January 21, 2002.)
