Hope, Derbyshire, UK – July 19, 2004 – CDR Group has been supporting Derbyshire County Council in the development of their MapInfo based corporate GIS for more than four years. In addition to supplying software, data, training and technical support, the Projects team at CDR has carried out a number of data capture and site survey exercises for the Authority. Derbyshire has now further cemented this close working relationship by appointing CDR as Approved Contractor for Data Capture and Conversion Services under a new 3 year Framework Agreement.

Tony Witham, GIS Projects Director at CDR says he is delighted with the award. “We pride ourselves on the level of repeat business that we receive from our customers and this award is a further demonstration of Derbyshire’s confidence in the quality and value of the work that we carry out for them”.

Paul Pugh, Derbyshire County Council’s GIS Manager says that he is delighted to be working with a local company on a project of such benefit to the local community. “GIS is one of the cornerstones of the Councils “E-Government” programme. We look forward to working with CDR in the coming years”.

Currently CDR are supplying a number of qualified GIS Data Capture operators to work on site for the County Council carrying out data conversion and data cleansing on a range of datasets. The Project involves not only the council’s own data, but also data held by the various local councils within the Derbyshire Partnership. This involves CDR’s staff working at a number of different locations throughout the county on topics as diverse as Tree Preservation Orders, Listed Buildings, and Recycling Stations.

The Derbyshire Partnership is a county-wide partnership of 32 member organisations that was inaugurated over two years ago to facilitate joint working and the implementation of e-Government.
