GoEngineer Kids Camps: Inspiring Innovation, One Kid at a Time

Kids Rule and Shape their Own World with Digital Design and 3D Printing Tools

SALT LAKE CITY, June 10, 2014 — (PRNewswire) — GoEngineer, a leading reseller of SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD software, Stratasys 3D Printers, Altium EDA, CAMWorks and Agile PLM, today announced Kids Camps, which strives to grow interest in design, engineering, and manufacturing.

"We feed their natural sense of wonder and imagination by showing them how to make their own digital designs." says Ken Coburn, President and Founder of GoEngineer. "Then they get to see their creations come to life using 3D printing technology."

Kids Camps are a unique opportunity for students ten to eighteen years old to get free training in both product design and 3D printing. The one day event will be held in over ten different cities across Western and South Central states in July and August. At the end of each day, everyone takes home their individually designed and printed parts.

"Kids don't spend a lot of time editing themselves, like adults sometimes do." says GoEngineer's Vice President of Marketing, Jennifer Douglas. "Their ideas are more free-flowing, which is often important to new product development. We encourage them to spend less time on limitations and more time on possibilities. That's when things get really interesting—and fun!"

Campers will learn the basics of SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD software to make their designs, which will be printed on a Stratasys 3D printer, making their digital designs a physical reality.

Feedback received from last year's parents was enthusiastic, even bordering on surprise: "…I have to say the day ended up being much more than I ever could have expected.  Being a product design consultant I work from home, so Jake sees me work with SOLIDWORKS.  Consequently, he is aware of the concept of 3D modeling but never tried CAD until your Kids Camp. I have to say I was shocked by how much he learned…I can easily see how this could be a real milestone event in his life."

GoEngineer Kids Camps have doubled capacity from last year but registrations are already almost full. For more information, please visit: http://www.goengineer.com/kids-camp/.
