Lilly Software Associates Announces Upcoming Regional Lean Manufacturing Seminar Series

HAMPTON, N.H.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—May 27, 2004— Lilly Software Associates, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise and supply chain solutions for manufacturers and distributors, and a premier supplier of Lean manufacturing solutions, today announced its upcoming regional Lean Manufacturing Seminar Series.

Attendees will hear from Lilly Software representatives and other industry experts about the principles of Lean manufacturing and how companies in a host of industries have implemented Lilly's Lean solutions for dramatic results. Typical customer outcomes include increased revenues by as much as 10%, decreased lead times by as much as 90%, reduced inventory by as much as 50%, and increased on-time delivery performance to more than 90%.

Several of Lilly Software's customers will be on hand at the seminars to share their Lean success stories and discuss how attendees can implement Lilly's solutions for similar results.

"We used to quote six to eight weeks for delivery and had a very difficult time making good on those promises," said Tom King, President, ThemoFab. "All of a sudden, we're shipping everything on time--even the 'rush' orders. Eight months after implementation, our on-time delivery is at 98%."

"Inventory has decreased a total of 70%," according to Jeff Carignan, Vice President Manufacturing, Instrument Technology, Inc. (ITI). "Lead times have been reduced 40%. On-time shipment performance has increased from 74% to 93%. Throughput productivity has increased 43% ... Life is good in the 'Throughput World.'"

Lilly Software's solutions focus on the areas of greatest impact in a Lean manufacturing strategy that provide the fastest improvement turnaround. With Lilly's guidance the aforementioned customers, and many others, easily converted to a "pull" scheduling technique that used market demand as the trigger for material release and job prioritization on the shop floor.

"Our customers have been seeing some pretty amazing, and immediate, results with our Lean solutions," said Charlie Alieri, Vice President of Marketing, Lilly Software Associates. "We're very excited that several of them are joining us at these interactive seminars to share their successes and offer a firsthand perspective to companies that are considering Lean practices."

Lilly Software's Lean Manufacturing Seminar Series will be held in nine U.S. cities throughout the month of June. For those wishing to register or to learn more, specific seminar information can be found at http://www.lillysoftware.com/seminars.
