WILSONVILLE, Ore. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — May 18, 2012 — Mentor Graphics Corporation (NASDAQ: MENT) today announced the appointment of Scot Morrison as the Mentor Embedded general manager of Embedded Runtime Solutions. Scot was most recently general manager and senior vice president at Wind River Systems where he was responsible for operating systems and associated middleware and tools. He will work closely with the Mentor® open source solutions, and simulation and virtual platforms management teams, to help drive the Mentor embedded software strategies.
“Scot has a tremendous background in the embedded software industry and he brings a wealth of experience in key markets including automotive, industrial and networking,” said Glenn Perry, general manager of the Mentor Embedded Software Division. “His expertise spans real time OS, virtualization, security and Linux. His contributions will be instrumental in further expanding Mentor’s technology leadership in embedded solutions.”
Scot will manage the Nucleus® product line, including associated middleware and professional services, and the Inflexion® UI (user interface) products. The Nucleus product line is the industry’s most popular commercial RTOS used in more than 2.3 billon mobile handsets, and the Inflexion UI product line enables developers to quickly create graphically rich, dynamic 2D and 3D Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs). Scot will also help identify and develop new product opportunities for Mentor Embedded.
Scot holds engineering degrees from the University of Toronto and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
