I-DEAS auto group new Report this article as Inappropriate to us !!!Login to Reply

Hi,
I am using I-DEAS v11 and I am trying to create a seperate group for each volume and select the elements on the surfaces of these volumes. I mean I want groups of elements which are enclosing volumes. I saw an auto create group option in the help files, but I can't locate that in the software. It says it is in the simulation, meshing and under the group menu/Auto Create. Any ideas ?
Thanks a lot

You can use Group/Autocreate to create groups of elements on volumes by using the I-DEAS menu in Meshing. Press Ctrl-M in Meshing and you will see the relevant menu options. Alternatively you can create a group of elements in a volume by Create Group, press right mouse and select Related to, press right mouse again and select Filter and then select Volume in filter, now pick volume off the screen and hit return twice.
