Radical changes to the way we do business in Aerospace will drive the next generation of space exploration. Leveraging additive manufacturing to modify the design of a rocket engine injector from 115 parts to 2, is IT!
Bear in mind, selective laser melting is not your standard, "buy a $1000 desktop 3D-printer and make a rocket engine", but innovative technologies such as these will eventually make space travel realistic.
Great job Marshall Space Flight Center for working this research project.
