PTC announced that the new BMW ORACLE Racing yacht, 'USA 87' a challenger for the 32nd America's Cup in 2007 has been developed with PTC software, including Pro/ENGINEER and Windchill. The new boat was christened at the team's base in Valencia, Spain - a culmination of a multi-year global design and development effort. BMW ORACLE Racing selected the PTC Product Development System because it supports the biggest objectives of innovative yachts: to be lighter, faster, and stronger. PTC has worked with BMW ORACLE Racing since 1999. In 2004, the partnership was renewed to support the sailing team in their challenge for the 32nd America's Cup in 2007 in Valencia, Spain. The team uses
Pro/ENGINEER for all its design activities, from developing the shape of the hull and keel, to designing structural components for the mast. In addition, the engineers have automated many of the design tasks and optimization routines through the Pro/ENGINEER application programming interface, Pro/TOOLKIT.

Ishida Europe will use SolidWorks to streamline design time for the machinery global food companies use to automatically weigh and pack everything from cereal to seafood. The U.K.-based company plans to reduce custom machine configuration time by 80 percent with SolidWorks' automated design and advanced sheet metal capabilities. Ishida Europe is the European commercial and manufacturing arm of Ishida Co., Ltd., the Japan-based global developer of weighing and packaging machinery founded in 1893. Its machines weigh and pack food for such global brands as Frito-Lay, Mars, and Nestle. The parent company had largely been using static 2D software in its operations around the world before
gradually switching to SolidWorks.
Actify Inc., announced the availability of SpinFire Professional 8.0, a digital design communication tool for the automotive, high technology, aerospace, industrial automation, and discrete manufacturing industries.
