PTC announced that the new BMW ORACLE Racing yacht, 'USA 87' a challenger for the 32nd America's Cup in 2007 has been developed with PTC software, including Pro/ENGINEER and Windchill. The new boat was christened at the team's base in Valencia, Spain - a culmination of a multi-year global design and development effort. BMW ORACLE Racing selected the PTC Product Development System because it supports the biggest objectives of innovative yachts: to be lighter, faster, and stronger. PTC has worked with BMW ORACLE Racing since 1999. In 2004, the partnership was renewed to support the sailing team in their challenge for the 32nd America's Cup in 2007 in Valencia, Spain. The team uses
Pro/ENGINEER for all its design activities, from developing the shape of the hull and keel, to designing structural components for the mast. In addition, the engineers have automated many of the design tasks and optimization routines through the Pro/ENGINEER application programming interface, Pro/TOOLKIT.

Right Hemisphere, who provides Product Graphics Management (PGM) software, announced the next release of its Deep Exploration client software. A standalone or companion application to the company's Deep Server enterprise PGM software, Deep Exploration 4.0 is available in two versions: Standard Edition and CAD Edition. Right Hemisphere also announced the availability of its two new software plug-ins for Deep Exploration CAD Edition and Adobe Acrobat 3D, called the Right Hemisphere PMI Module and the Right Hemisphere PDF Publishing Module. These plug-ins provide added functionality for 3D collaboration, and 3D PDF publishing. Deep Exploration CAD Edition transforms CAD models into lightweight
product graphics; authors a full range of 2D and 3D product graphics; publishes finished graphics and documents; and augments high volume, 2D and 3D graphics processes.

Ishida Europe will use SolidWorks to streamline design time for the machinery global food companies use to automatically weigh and pack everything from cereal to seafood. The U.K.-based company plans to reduce custom machine configuration time by 80 percent with SolidWorks' automated design and advanced sheet metal capabilities. Ishida Europe is the European commercial and manufacturing arm of Ishida Co., Ltd., the Japan-based global developer of weighing and packaging machinery founded in 1893. Its machines weigh and pack food for such global brands as Frito-Lay, Mars, and Nestle. The parent company had largely been using static 2D software in its operations around the world before
gradually switching to SolidWorks.

Actify Inc., announced the availability of SpinFire Professional 8.0, a digital design communication tool for the automotive, high technology, aerospace, industrial automation, and discrete manufacturing industries. New features that enhance the digital design communication process include the ability to interact with Product Manufacturing Information (PMI, also known as GD&T), a plug-in application program interface (API) to create custom solutions, a completely new user interface, improved analysis capabilities, and an easier exploded assembly creation tool. SpinFire Professional 8.0 makes 2D and 3D CAD data more easily accessible to both technical and non-technical users. It provides 2D
and 3D CAD visualization capabilities, without requiring a native CAD system, in a secure and user-friendly 3D format.

ANSYS Inc. announced that following informal discussions with staff at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), ANSYS has elected to refile its pre-merger notification and report form under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act with respect to its acquisition of Fluent Inc. ANSYS has withdrawn its original filing and has refiled its Notification and Report Form with the FTC and the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice on March 27, 2006. As a result, the FTC staff will have more time to review the information submitted by ANSYS and Fluent before the staff must determine what additional information, if any, it will request. ANSYS and Fluent remain committed to working
cooperatively with the FTC as it conducts its review of the acquisition.
