Applied Engineering, Inc. announced that it is donating 500 licenses of SolidWorks to the North Dakota University System. The donation consists of a 500 seat education lab package of SolidWorks Education Edition 2005-2006, along with a three-year subscription which provides software updates and technical support. "By making this software available throughout North Dakota's universities, our state's engineering students gain access to cutting-edge, industry-leading engineering tools. That experience is very valuable as they enter the workforce," noted Dave Raatz, President of Applied Engineering. "This donation is a result of the close relationship between the North Dakota universities
engineering departments and Applied Engineering." The SolidWorks Education Edition 2005-2006 brings 3D CAD software, COSMOS Design Analysis software, and comprehensive courseware to the design-engineering curriculum.

think3, a supplier of industrial design and product development products, announced that 01consulting, a sales and marketing services firm based in Paris, has released market research data demonstrating that think3 is one of the top MCAD software vendors in the European mid-range market. The report, "MCAD Market Europe 2005," studies the European MCAD segment of the PLM market by country, industry, category and software vendor. Through quantitative analysis based on 2004 data, the report compares trends in two segments of the MCAD market: the high-end and the mid-range, and presents an outlook for the market in the future.
