The scanner is seamlessly integrated on both hardware and software level:
- The design of the hardware interface is fully compatible with the Faro arm pistol grip and also allows the use of touch probes. The data is acquired over the Renishaw multi-wire cable at almost 20000 points per second and immediately visible on screen for evaluation.
- The Metris Scan Handheld 2.0 software version offers the same user interface as the Metris Scan CMM version facilitating the job for the operator. The user controls scanning, intensity settings and viewing direction through the start/stop buttons on the Faro arm.
Metris is the market leader for CMM based laser scanning including downstream applications such as full part to CAD inspection and reverse engineering. Metris mainly focuses on the automotive and aerospace design and manufacturing community.
