PartMaker Medical Device Educational Webinar Series

The PartMaker Inc. division of Delcam Plc is hosting a monthly webinar series for manufacturing professionals focusing on the optimal manufacturing and CNC programming techniques for a variety of common families of medical devices.  Each webinar will focus on the manufacture of a particular implantable medical device and cover such issues as part application, machine tool selection, tooling options and CNC programming considerations.  Each webinar will be conducted by a PartMaker product specialist with extensive medical device manufacturing expertise. These webinars are all free of cost and available to both existing PartMaker users and prospective users alike. A schedule and syllabus of each of these webinars can be found below:

The first installment of the PartMaker Medical Edu Series will focus on the manufacture of angulated abutments. Angulated abutments are a medical device that is used by dentists in tooth restoration surgery.  This webinar will discuss how these components are used by practioners in the field as well as the different manufacturing and CNC programmer methods that can be used to produce these parts with an overview of these methods in being visually demonstrated in PartMaker.

Bone screws can be used in a variety of surgical procedures.  This webinar will discuss how these components are used by practioners in the field as well as the different manufacturing and CNC programmer methods that can be used to produce these parts with an overview of these methods in being visually demonstrated in PartMaker. Specifically, this webinar will discuss, among other topics, various threading methodologies including segmented threading and thread whirling.

This webinar will focus on machine tool selection for these parts including the relative advantages of making such parts on a CNC Swiss, Bar-Fed Mill or conventional 5-axis mill.
