SPORTS FOOTWEAR LEADER CHOOSES DELCAM

ANTA, China’s largest manufacturer of sports footwear for the country’s domestic market, has selected a range of Delcam Crispin footwear design and manufacturing software to meet its future product development needs. The software will replace a mixture of design, costing and manufacturing systems installed currently at the company’s various design and manufacturing centres around the country.

Garner Holt Productions of San Bernardino, California, is the world’s largest manufacturer of animatronics, special effects and show action equipment for theme parks, restaurants and other public places all over the globe. In the past, it took an army of designers and sculptors months to produce some of the incredible dinosaurs, cartoon characters and other animated figures that the company makes.

NEW POWERINSPECT MODULES

Delcam has added two new options for its PowerINSPECT inspection software. PowerINSPECT PartAligner can be used with portable inspection equipment to simplify set-up operations for machine tools. It is similar to the automated position compensation provided by NC-PartLocator for machine tools with probing systems, but uses a separate measuring device.

FIVE AXIS DENTAL MACHINING

Delcam has added extra five-axis machining options to its DentMILL knowledge-based machining system for the manufacture of components for the dental industry. The new functionality will make it easier to program the manufacture of dental bars, implant bridges and customised abutments.

80% FASTER AEROSPACE PROGRAMMING
|
Moving to Delcam’s PowerMILL CAM system for high-speed and five-axis machining has enabled French aerospace manufacturer Creuzet Aeronautique to cut its programming times dramatically. According to Tooling Department Manager Teddy Kanellos, the company can save between 25% and 80% of the time previously needed, depending on the complexity of the part.

TAKING FULL ADVANTAGE OF TURN-MILL
|
Adding Delcam’s FeatureCAM feature-based CAM system has allowed tooling manufacturer Parlec, Inc., to take full advantage of the advanced capabilities of its turn-mill machines. The company’s previous CAM package could not automatically address simultaneous operation of the machines’ twin spindles.
