R&D INVESTMENT MAINTAINED

Delcam has maintained its industry-leading levels of research and development expenditure during the first half of 2009 despite feeling the effects of the global economic downturn.  The company invested over £4.7 million in R&D during the period, a small increase from the £4.5 million invested in the first half of 2008.

WORLD’S LARGEST CAM USER MEETING

Delcam’s South Korean joint venture, Hankook Delcam, held the world’s largest CAM user meeting last week at the Hyundai Hotel in Gyeongju.  More than 1,000 users attended the meeting, together with delegates from Delcam’s Asian Technical Summit, which was held in the same hotel earlier in the week.

The use of ArtCAM JewelSmith has increased the speed of jewellery design and manufacture at Saint Petersburg’s Jewelry Plant "Alfa”.  In addition, the software allows designers to present quickly several variants of any new design, together with prototype models, to a customer so they can make a final decision on the piece.
