The latest release of Vericut software from CGTech offers users of Pathtrace’s EdgeCAM software the ability to launch Vericut from within EdgeCAM.
At a single click the EdgeCAM user can launch Vericut 5.3 and verify dimensional accuracy and optimise CNC programmes. Vericut is dedicated simulation and verification software that simulates the user’s exact machining environment. Vericut’s 3D solid simulation of the workpiece and NC machine tool enables visualization of machining exactly as it occurs on the shop floor.
“The link to Vericut from EdgeCAM offers major manufacturers the opportunity for 'virtual prove-out'; of their NC code”, says Raf Lobato, Pathtrace Technical Director. “While EdgeCAM Simulator is ideal for collision checking of tool and holder against part and fixture, Vericut goes a step further by checking the kinematics of the whole machine tool and using the NC code output from the EdgeCAM post processor to drive the movement in this virtual world.
“Vericut provides an independent method of confirming that the NC code produced by EdgeCAM will machine the part as intended.”
