CAD Centric Announces STL Support in OneView Professional
Adds additional format support to popular viewer

Cincinnati, August 19, 2003: CAD Centric Systems, The Document Distribution CompanySM, today announced the immediate availability and support of the Stereo Lithography (STL) file format in OneView Professional, its popular, feature rich, viewer for 2D and 3D CAD data.

"The Stereo Lithography format is an important format for many manufacturing companies that rely on prototyping facilities for rapid product development," commented Doug Dennis, President, CAD Centric Systems. "Our support of this data type furthers our commitment to make the OneView product family the viewing tool of choice for companies seeking broad deployment of 3D engineering data."

The STL file format was developed by rapid prototyping companies as the file format used to manufacture from 3D models. This format is widely available from many of the industry leading CAD/CAM systems and is used both for rapid prototyping and as an efficient means of sharing model information. "While the industry has struggled with a format for viewing 3D data, many have forgotten the value in viewing STL data," said John Buehler, Chief Technical Officer, CAD Centric Systems. "This format is efficient, readily available, and solves the majority of the 3D visualization requirements for a fraction of the cost. We wanted to insure that STL continues to be used and, support in our free viewer is one way of doing that."

As a fully functional 3D viewer, OneView Professional offers extended visualization capabilities including measurement, cross sectioning, markup, and 3D annotation. With the addition of STL, OneView Professional now supports I-DEAS .idi files, HP Direct Model .jt files, and industry standard .stl 3D files.

OneView Professional views both 2D drawing data and 3D model and assembly information generated by many of today's CAD systems. With OneView, corporate users have access to both model and drawing information from an integrated viewer this allows for comprehensive design reviews which require access to engineering, design, manufacturing, and production data from a unified viewer.
