Adoption of Moldflow Manufacturing Solutions Products Continues with Major Manufacturing Wins

WAYLAND, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 24, 2003--Moldflow Corporation (NASDAQ: MFLO), the world leader in software solutions for optimizing the design and manufacture of plastic products announced today significant orders received from major global manufacturing companies for initial investments and follow-on purchases to expand existing implementations of Moldflow Manufacturing Solutions(TM) (MMS(TM)) products.

Moldflow's MMS manufacturing execution product suite utilizes state-of-the-art technologies for production and process monitoring and control on the plastics manufacturing plant floor. From the time that Moldflow initially introduced the MMS products, manufacturing companies around the globe have selected Moldflow to enable access to the production and process data needed for critical decision making and to drive down the cost of manufacturing. The Company's manufacturing product strategy is built upon demonstrating the value proposition through pilot implementations, which are often the foundation for follow-on plant-wide implementation of the MMS products.

The notable orders received by Moldflow, all shipped in the fourth fiscal quarter, represent a combination of initial pilot and important follow-on business. A previously announced order received from Seeber GmbH, a major supplier of plastic parts to the global automotive industry, valued at over $580,000 and the largest initial pilot implementation in the Company's history, and an order from Youngjin DNT in Korea valued at approximately $100,000 represent significant new customer wins for Moldflow's MMS products.

In addition, a number of significant follow-on orders were received, including orders from FCI of France, a world leading supplier of electronic and electrical interconnect systems and Tyco Electronics in the USA, a world leader in cutting-edge wireless, active fiber optic and complete power systems technologies.

Long time Moldflow customer, Intralox Incorporated, the world's largest manufacturer of modular plastic conveyor belts also purchased additional MMS products as they continue to expand their corporate investment in Moldflow technology. "We evaluated several systems and chose Moldflow," said Ned Dudoussat, plastics scheduler for Intralox. "Since implementation, the Moldflow system has had a positive impact on several areas of our plant operations, including processing, productivity monitoring, scheduling and planning. Moldflow products give us data and tools that we need to make key decisions on how to improve plant productivity."

Roland Thomas, president and CEO of Moldflow Corporation noted, "We have consistently said that our manufacturing product strategy is built upon delivering world class technology solutions to solve our customers' real world problems and provide them with the means to improve the quality of their products and the efficiency of their business operations. Our sales model for the MMS products is based upon identifying and targeting manufacturing companies whose own vision embraces technology to drive profit and quality improvements in their businesses. Through successful pilot implementations with these customers, we have demonstrated time after time the value proposition and created the opportunity for future plant-wide sales. The notable pilot investments and the amount of significant follow-on business that we enjoyed in the fourth quarter further validate our approach to building this business."
