ESI Group Announces EuroPAM 2003 in Mainz, Germany, October 16-17

European Conference on Virtual Engineering Will Demonstrate How Simulation is a Key Component of the Product Life Cycle Management

Paris, July 17, 2003: ESI Group, a world leading provider of virtual prototyping and manufacturing software, announced its 13th European conference and exhibition to be held October 16-17, in Mainz, Germany. Focused on digital simulation software for prototyping and manufacturing processes, EuroPAM 2003 is expected to draw approximately 400 European delegates representing major automotive manufacturers and suppliers, as well as a wide spectrum of industries including, aerospace, defense, energy, and manufacturing.

According to Alain de Rouvray, chairman chief executive officer of ESI Group, "EuroPAM 2003 will be a unique opportunity to learn more about our 3G PLM solutions. How engineers from the extended enterprise can share information on the same virtual prototype, allowing for continuous improvement in design and immediate online decision-making. A proven strategy that leads to computer integrated engineering, one of the key factors in cutting edge competitiveness for industry leaders."

EuroPAM 2003 will feature over 50 technical sessions including client presentations, ESI Group executives’ workshops on product directions, and a showcase area for partners. Conference topics will cover numerous simulation applications in product development including crashworthiness, occupant safety, biomechanics, material rupture, NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness), vibro-acoustics, durability, aerodynamics, aero-acoustics, and electromagnetic compatibility. In addition, simulation of various manufacturing processes will be presented: stamping, casting, welding, heat treatment, and forming of composite and plastics. All plenary and break-out sessions will be simultaneously translated into English, French and German.

The conference and the exhibition will be held at the Congress Center, a renaissance castle in the historic city of Mainz. For additional information on EuroPAM 2003, including conference speakers and events, please visit

About ESI Group
ESI Group is a pioneer and world leading provider of digital simulation for prototyping and manufacturing processes that take into account the physics of materials. ESI Group has developed an entire suite of coherent, industry-oriented applications to realistically simulate a product's behavior during testing, to fine tune the manufacturing processes in synergy with the desired product performance, and to evaluate the environment's impact on product usage. ESI Group's product portfolio, which has been industrially validated and combined in multi-trade value chains, represents a unique collaborative, virtual engineering solution, known as the Virtual Try-Out Space (VTOS), enabling a continuous improvement on the virtual prototype. By drastically reducing costs and development lead times, VTOS solutions offer major competitive advantages by progressively eliminating the need for physical prototypes. With revenues close to 43 million euros in fiscal year 2002, ESI Group (Nouveau March麠Euronext Paris - Software - Euroclear 6584 - Bloomberg ESI FP - Reuters ESIG.LN) employs over 400 high-level specialists worldwide. The company and its global network of agents provide sales and technical support to customers in more than 30 countries. On the Net: ESI Group site:
