Attendees to receive free 60-day evaluation software to hone skills
NEEDHAM, Mass., July 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- PTC (Nasdaq: PMTC), the
product development company(TM), today announced an expanded series of "Hands-
On Workshops" designed to get Pro/E(R) Wildfire(TM), PTC's recently launched
version of its industry-leading product design and development software, in
the hands of both new and experienced users.
The workshops have two essential components. Through interactive lab
exercises, all attendees will experience first-hand the Simple -- Powerful --
Connected(TM) capabilities of Pro/E Wildfire. Participants will also receive a
free 60-day evaluation copy of Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire to take with them after
the workshop to further refine their skills.
The 2.5-hour workshops are offered at two levels; "Introduction to
Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire" for new users and "Advanced Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire" for
experienced users. They will be offered directly by PTC, through PTC/USER's
Regional User Group sessions, and through PTC's Value Added Resellers.

conference in June where more than 400 attendees participated in seven
sessions throughout the four-day conference. Participants surveyed after the
workshops indicated that the training sessions increased the likelihood of
their moving to Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire quickly, many within three months time.
A full 93 percent of attendees indicated that the workshops effectively
addressed their concerns, ranging from the new software's learning curve to
ease-of-use and interoperability. The workshops were co-sponsored by Hewlett
Packard, which provided hardware systems for the workshops.
The post-workshop survey found:
* 83 percent said they will achieve productivity gains from moving to
* 63 percent were more likely to replace other MCAD seats with
* 65.5 percent indicated interest in training offers for the new software.
"These workshops were the talk of PTC/USER," said PTC Senior Vice
President of Product Management Brian Shepherd. "By actually working with the
software, attendees experienced the power, ease-of-use and seamless
connectivity of Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire and quickly confirmed for themselves
that the software more than meets their expectations in terms of quality,
functionality and usability."
