CADCAM-E Announces CATIA Translator for eMPower from Tecnomatix

RAMSEY, NEW JERSEY, JULY 1, 2003 – CADCAM-E, a leading provider of CAD/CAM Engineering Services & Data Translation Products, announces the release of CATIA Version 4 Translator for the eMPower suite of products from Tecnomatix. This is the first in a series of new products resulting from the new partnership announced between CADCAM-E and Tecnomatix Technologies, the market leader in Manufacturing Production Management (MPM) solutions.

CATeMP is a standalone Windows (NT, 2000, XP) product that translates CATIA V4 .model and EXPORT format files to eMPower format files. All CATIA V4 3D space entities are mapped to equivalent eMPower entities. Product includes translation filters to enable selective data translation.

CATeMP is completely independent of CATIA V4 and does not require a CATIA V4 license or software to operate.

“Seamless interoperability between design and manufacturing applications is key to fully deliver on the vision of the digital factory of the future. CADCAM-E’s CATeMP product will connect CATIA, which is used for product design and eMPower, the tool of choice for Manufacturing Process Management ” said CADCAM-E’s CEO, Kumar Rajan.

“We see our cooperation with CAD-CAM-E as part of Tecnomatix strategy to provide seamless interoperability between all major design systems and eMPower. CADCAM-E has proven its professionalism over the years and we are confident in its ability to complement our solution as part of a long lasting partnership”, said Alex Shapira, Executive VP of Tecnomatix’s Global Product Organization.
