The Forum for Women Entrepreneurs Awards Successful Bay Area Women at Annual Event Tonight; Carol Bartz, Autodesk President and CEO to be Honored Along with Other Powerful Women in Technology



SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 18, 2003--The Forum for Women Entrepreneurs (FWE) will honor three Bay Area businesswomen tonight at its Annual Awards Dinner and Silent Auction.

This year, Carol Bartz, AutoDesk President and CEO will receive the headline 'Entrepreneurial Achievement Award,' acknowledging Bartz's success in growing Autodesk, a design software and digital content company headquartered in Marin -- from $300 million to a global $1 billion company during her tenure.

"Carol Bartz is a world-class role model for all women and entrepreneurs in the technology industry. She has demonstrated sustained performance in all her achievements. At the same time, she has been a tireless advocate, mentor, and coach for women coming through the ranks," says Susan Hailey, CEO of the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs. Two other highly successful Bay Area women will receive special recognition for their achievements as entrepreneurs and executives in building and growing successful technology companies.

Renee Courington, co-founder of All Covered, headquartered in Redwood City, will be honored for her entrepreneurial achievement in founding the largest North American IT outsourcing company servicing entrepreneurs and small businesses across the country. Courington established All Covered in 1997 and has grown it to a $38 million business this year.

Deborah Ludewig, partner at Pillsbury Winthrop LLP in Palo Alto and former partner at Cooley Godward is being recognized with a special "Sponsor of the Year" award for her significant contribution in supporting entrepreneurial women with invaluable legal advice in establishing and structuring technology businesses. Ludewig has contributed significantly to FWE by offering her personal time to the membership and spearheading efforts to secure funding and other essential resources for FWE.
