MOORPARK, CA – June 3, 2003 – Gibbs and Associates, developer of GibbsCAM, computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software for programming computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools, announced today that GibbsCAM has received broad interoperability recognition by leading mainstream CAD vendors Autodesk, Solid Edge and SolidWorks. Gibbs and Associates' investment in maintaining GibbsCAM's interoperability with the latest CAD system releases, GibbsCAM's support for a wide range of machining operations (2- thru 5-axis milling, 2-axis turning, unlimited axes/flows multi-task machining, and 2- thru 4-axis wire-EDM'ing), and GibbsCAM's ease-of-use reflects the company's commitment to customers to empower their employees to efficiently generate CNC programs to machine their parts on their CNC machines.

Autodesk recently announced that GibbsCAM received certification as an Autodesk Inventor Certified Application ensuring a high level of interoperability with Autodesk Inventor 7. GibbsCAM's ability to receive files from Inventor using the Inventor-to-GibbsCAM Transfer Add-in complements GibbsCAM's ability to receive file from the Mechanical Desktop using the Mechanical Desktop-to-GibbsCAM Transfer Add-in. GibbsCAM also has the ability to directly read DWG and DXF files from AutoCAD or AutoCAD Mechanical rounding out full support for Autodesk's complete mechanical design product family.

EDS PLM Solutions also recently announced that GibbsCAM received Certified Select rating with Solid Edge V14. Solid Edge V14 models can be transferred to GibbsCAM from within a Solid Edge session using the Solid Edge-to-GibbsCAM Transfer Add-In or be read directly by GibbsCAM. This level of interoperability ensures the highest degree of data fidelity allowing CNC programs to be created with no data exchange errors.

SolidWorks also announced in addition to GibbsCAM being recognized as a Solution Partner for SolidWorks 2003, that GibbsCAM has also been approved as an authorized CAM solution for the SolidWorks Manufacturing Network. This authorization allows GibbsCAM customers to register their companies on the SolidWorks Manufacturing Network to advertise their production services to SolidWorks customers. GibbsCAM gained this level of acceptance through its demonstrated ability to read and work with native SolidWorks files. Model data can also be directly transferred to GibbsCAM from within a SolidWorks session using the SolidWorks-to-GibbsCAM Transfer Add-in.

The complete set of all CAD Transfer Add-ins for GibbsCAM currently ship to GibbsCAM customers as part of each new GibbsCAM release. In addition, interim versions of the CAD Transfer Add-ins can be downloaded by users from www.GibbsCAM.com between GibbsCAM releases ensuring the highest level of compatibility as new versions of the supported CAD systems are released.
