MOORPARK, CA – May 27, 2003 – Gibbs and Associates, developer of GibbsCAM, computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software for programming computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools, announced today that GibbsCAM has been authorized by SolidWorks Corporation as a qualified CAM product eligible for participation in the SolidWorks Manufacturing Network. This latest acceptance allows GibbsCAM customers with a current GibbsCAM Maintenance subscription to register their companies on the SolidWorks Manufacturing Network so that SolidWorks customers can take advantage of their manufacturing services.

"The SolidWorks Manufacturing Network provides cost-effective production sources for SolidWorks customers using native SolidWorks data to communicate with the service provider," stated Robert McGill, director of the SolidWorks Manufacturing Network. "As a qualified CAM product for SolidWorks software, GibbsCAM's ability to read in native SolidWorks models ensures that customers' SolidWorks designs can be readily programmed and machined without any data loss or shift from the original part geometry."

"This latest announcement is another example of how working together Gibbs and Associates and SolidWorks continue to provide best-in-class solutions for customers," said Bill Gibbs, founder and president of Gibbs and Associates. "SolidWorks customers can be assured that their designs can be produced by GibbsCAM users in the SolidWorks Manufacturing Network."

GibbsCAM 2002 has the ability to directly read in SolidWorks model files, including the new SolidWorks 2003 format. Model files can also be directly transferred from within the SolidWorks session to GibbsCAM using the SolidWork-to-GibbsCAM Transfer Add-In which is available as part of the GibbsCAM 2002 release. The latest version of the add-in can also be downloaded from the On-line Support section on www.GibbsCAM.com.
