CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. & CHICAGO — (BUSINESS WIRE) — November 13, 2009 — KUKA Robotics to display the latest in robotic welding innovation for the welding and fabricating industry at FABTECH 2009. The latest innovations include the new KR 16 arc HW and the KR 16 L8 arc HW complementing the expanding line of welding robots available to the welding market from KUKA Robotics.
The new welding robots feature a hollow-wrist design, with a 50 mm opening that allows the integration of commonly-used welding packages, and achieve a repeatability of less than +/- 0.05 mm. With the protection classification of IP54, the KR 16 arc HW and the KR 16L 8 arc HW are suitable for operation in the harshest welding environment conditions. The combination of the fast rotating 6 axis and powerfully driven lightweight arm make these best-in-breed welding robots, extremely productive and time savers. The KR 16 arc HW, with a payload of up to 8 kg, is ideally suited for larger work pieces and thick plate applications and an ideal choice in long reach applications with reach of up to 2,015 mm.
Live in-booth welding demonstrations will feature new and innovative welding solutions in cooperation with the KUKA Robotics System Partner Network. Official KUKA Robotics System Partner Automated Robotic Solutions, Inc. will be displaying a KR 6 arc in a Jobber Series expandable pre-engineered welding cell with a Thermal Arc Power Master 400SP pulsing power supply. The cell features the proven and fast KR 6 arc with a 6kg payload and 1611mm reach and able to support a wide range of optional welding power supplies. The Automated Robotic Solutions’ Jobber Series cell is field expandable and configurable– growing as your welding needs change. In a cell designed and supplied by Official KUKA Robotics System Partner UST Technologies the KR 5 arc will be displayed in a RobUST Series welding cell. The RobUST Series System is front loading, Servo controlled aluminum welding cell, featuring the 5kg payload KR 5 arc with 1412mm reach and utilizing a Fronius power supply.
