RealityWave Releases VizStream? 3.5; 20 Times Faster for 3D/2D Enterprise Project Collaboration

Power Industry user now able to collaborate on a 10GB model with 100,000,000 Triangles over any network connection

Cambridge, Mass.—May 7, 2003 - RealityWave Inc., developer of the leading technology platform integrating Industrial Data for enterprise collaboration, today announced the immediate availability of version 3.5 of their patented VizStream Enterprise Platform. The platform enables access, visualization, and integration of industrial data within any enterprise application. Version 3.5 stands as a milestone for the company and the visualization/collaboration market. Already the fastest technology available, the twenty-fold increase in speed allows for any size model or data set to be accessed and worked with on any computer over any network connection.

“The VizStream platform is clearly the best in class of steaming solutions, and the enhancements in version 3.5 only increase their lead,” said Richard Longdon, Chief Executive, Aveva. “VizStream offers us the ability to extend 3D visualization as part of our global engineering information management solution, VNET Navigator. RealityWave is a very focused company that has a high level of synergy with AVEVA and both development teams were able to work together to ensure that our solution is very successful.”

RealityWave’s VizStream technology makes it possible to visualize, access, and integrate industrial data such as 3D models, 2D drawings, bill of materials, and more for enterprise project collaboration. This latest version is already significantly helping one VizStream user, a worldwide full service power provider. The increase in speed was readily apparent on their 10 Gigabyte 3D model containing more than 600,000 components, and 100,000,000 triangles. All data associated with the 3D model is available to work with in seconds.

“RealityWave, although the market leader, has a development arm that has witnessed a continuing increase in model size and the amount of data needed to collaborate,” said RealityWave CTO Aaron Freedman. “Rather than waiting for the data to catch up to our existing platform in a few years, we decided to create a more powerful and cost-efficient platform. VizStream can now accept any model today and any model tomorrow.”
