"Design Solutions From Concept Through Manufacture" Better Reflects Magazine's Mission and Subscribers' Work Environment

April 28, 2003 -- Desktop Engineering magazine, the premier publication for
design engineers and engineering managers, today unveiled its new tagline:
Design Solutions From Concept Through Manufacture. This is the first change
in the magazine's tagline since the magazine began publication 1995.

"Although Desktop Engineering (DE) will always be the design engineer's
complete computing resource, our new tagline better reflects our historical,
long-term commitment to in-depth coverage of design through manufacturing
solutions," said publisher Anthony J. Lockwood in his announcement. "Our
competitors often change their taglines at the first hint of a fad to chase
advertising dollars. It took us 8 years of continuous, careful research to
reach the change decision."

"'Design Solutions From Concept Through Manufacture' reflects the reality of
today's design engineering work environment," continued Lockwood. "It also
re-affirms DE's strategic direction to our advertising partners who view the
magazine's 63,000 BPA-audited subscribers as core buyers, specifiers, and
recommenders of emerging technologies and new products in the ever-changing
