USUN Technology Co., Ltd. Standardizes on SolidWorks 3D CAD to Eliminate Errors and Speed Products to Market

USUN, a major automation equipment producer, purchases 50 seats of SolidWorks

CONCORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 28, 2003-- USUN Technology Co., Ltd., a major Taiwanese supplier of automatic electromechanical integrated systems, has purchased 50 seats of SolidWorks(R) three-dimensional computer-aided design (3D CAD) software and standardized on SolidWorks as its global solid modeling platform. SolidWorks will significantly shorten USUN's design time, reduce errors, and improve the quality of its electromechanical equipment.

With 19 years of experience integrating automatic machines and electronics systems, USUN is ISO 9001 certified and holds 25 patents and trademarks internationally. SolidWorks will support the company's wide range of upgrading, planning, designing, and production services for liquid crystal displays (LCDs), printed circuit boards (PCBs), copper clad laminate (CCL) products, semiconductors, and related technology.

USUN selected SolidWorks as its 3D CAD platform because of SolidWorks' efficiency in handling large assemblies, according to Chia Cheng Chen, general manager of USUN. SolidWorks stood out from other CAD software for being easy to learn and the most powerful, reliable offering overall. "We are very pleased with SolidWorks," Chen said.

The switch from 2D CAD software to SolidWorks has helped reduce design errors by 35 percent while enhancing productivity by 40 percent, according to Chen. The efficiency of designing in SolidWorks - combined with the communication power of SolidWorks' embedded collaboration tool, eDrawings, and the software's simulation features - has drastically increased design efficiency and accelerated the pace of bringing new products to market.

"SolidWorks' performance - combined with its large assembly capabilities, friendly user interface, and advanced curved surface functions - has made it the CAD system of choice for a growing number of engineers," said Ved Narayan, director of SolidWorks' Asia-Pacific operations. "Its new analysis and product data management (PDM) features have again been created with users in mind, and help companies seize market opportunity and compete globally."

USUN purchased SolidWorks through its authorized reseller SolidWizard. SolidWizard is providing ongoing software support and training to USUN.
