In January, Cadpo announced its partnership with Javelin Technologies, a leading SolidWorks product and service provider, to provide SolidWorks learning content in i.get.it. This release clarifies Cadpo's strategy to distribute that content in the i.get.it Knowledge Management application to the SolidWorks community.
"As this industry continues to draw the distinction between the 'PLM' and 'mainstream design centric' markets -- as evidenced at the Daratech SUMMIT2003 two weeks ago -- we recognize that our distribution strategy must be aligned with this market direction," says Kevin Noe, president of Cadpo. "This alignment means that we have decided to only distribute design-centric content for the SolidWorks community through select SolidWorks' Value Added Resellers (VARs). Our goal is to enable the VARs to more effectively service and support their clients with a Knowledge Management system that provides comprehensive learning content, skills gap analysis, and tools for tailoring content for in- class/seminar instruction."
Cadpo believes this is the right business model that will increase revenue and profitability for SolidWorks VARs and continue the global market penetration of i.get.it. Cadpo will be meeting with key SolidWorks VAR executives in North America and Europe throughout the second quarter to discuss the details of this strategy.
"The key component of this strategy is to provide additional product and service revenue generating opportunities for the VARs while providing increased value to SolidWorks customers," adds Noe. "Equally important is that our strategy doesn't compromise control of the VAR's client relationship.
