MatrixOne Introduces New Professional Certifications to Ensure Successful Implementation of PLM Solutions

Advanced Certifications Further Map Implementation Capabilities to Customers' Strategic Business Goals

WESTFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 7, 2003-- MatrixOne, Inc. (NASDAQ: MONE), a leading provider of collaborative product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions for the value chain(TM), today announced two new certifications that will ensure the continued development of qualified professionals to drive customer success. Building upon the success of The eMatrix(R) Certified Professional Program (eMCP Program), qualified individuals who have successfully demonstrated proficiency and experience designing and deploying MatrixOne collaboration solutions can now bolster their expertise in two key areas; configuring MatrixOne Value Chain Portfolio(TM) applications, and aligning applications with customers' unique business requirements.

Earning an eMatrix Certified Professional certificate requires satisfying a curriculum of educational requirements established by MatrixOne's professional services team and successfully passing standardized, independent testing which measures knowledge of MatrixOne products and applications. The new certifications, which set standards of excellence for eMatrix and Value Chain Portfolio application implementation professionals, is available to implementation and system integration alliance members and MatrixOne professional services employees who are charged with implementing eMatrix and Value Chain Portfolio applications for MatrixOne customers.

eMatrix is MatrixOne's core product, a platform that facilitates collaboration among geographically dispersed departments and divisions within an enterprise and among the enterprise's customers, suppliers and other business partners to link customers, design chain partners and employees to their product development processes. Complementing the core product are business applications known as the Value Chain Portfolio, a set of out-of-the-box applications that integrate product information and business processes in support of value chain interaction, from internal department-to-department enterprise resource integration, to supply chain interaction and customer configuration management.

The enhanced eMCP Program offers two new certifications that demonstrate role-specific levels of proficiency with eMatrix and Value Chain Portfolio applications. Candidates must satisfy the requirements needed to complete a specific program and demonstrate knowledge by passing associated examinations, with required annual product currency exams and version-specific training for major eMatrix and Value Chain Portfolio software releases.

"MatrixOne is dedicated to ensuring the success of our customers," said Mike Segal, senior vice president of customer success for MatrixOne. "By offering two advanced certification levels, implementation professionals will be able to better align their efforts to customers' evolving business requirements. This is an important evolution in the eMCP program, as more and more customers depend upon PLM solutions to achieve their strategic business goals. Earning a certificate from the eMCP Program recognizes professionals for their achievements and provides an incentive for continued education in implementing MatrixOne products."
