The 5000 companies that made the list reported aggregate revenue of $185 billion and median three-year growth of 147%. Most important, the 2008 Inc. 5000 companies were engines of job growth, having created more than 826,033 jobs since those companies were founded.
According to Ronald L. Hollis, PhD, Quickparts President and CEO, "In the product development market, Quickparts has successfully gone from a start-up company to one of the top producers of Low-Volume/Rapid Prototypes and Injection Molded Parts in just eight years. With eight straight years of exceeding 20% revenue growth from 2000 through 2008, we are continuing our record as one of the fast-growth success stories in North America."
Dr. Hollis continued, "Using our patented QuickQuote® instant quoting process, Quickparts is an entirely new way of obtaining custom-manufactured plastic and metal parts online. Traditional methods of obtaining rapid prototypes take too much time, leave lots of room for error and are often a bigger hassle than anticipated. QuickQuote make this process fast, simple and easy."
The 2008 Inc. 5000 list measures revenue growth from 2004 through 2007. To qualify, companies must be U.S.-based and privately held, independent -- not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies -- as of December 31, 2007, and have had at least $200,000 in revenue in 2004, and $2 million in 2007.
"Our second annual Inc. 5000 continues the most ambitious project in business journalism," said Inc. 5000 Project Manager Jim Melloan. "The Inc. 5000 gives an unrivalled portrait of young, underreported companies across all industries doing fascinating things with cutting-edge business models, as well as older companies that are still showing impressive growth."
