IMS Software Releases IMSPost Version 7

-- IMSpost Version 7 Adds Powerful 5-axis and Reverse Post Capability --

HAVERHILL, MA. – September 17, 2002 – IMS Software, the pioneering developer
of advanced NC postprocessing solutions announces the immediate availability
of IMSpost version 7. With over 100 new features and enhancements IMSpost
7 provides best-in-class solutions for postprocessing NC programs from all
major CAD/CAM systems to any CNC machine tool.

Advanced Multi-axis Capability

Many new features apply to postprocessing for multi-axis machines, and
high-speed machining applications. Automatic support for retract and
re-orienting of multi-axis machines when machine limits are encountered
is enhanced, as is the ability of the user to provide conditions for
choosing a particular multi-axis solution. Locking of either linear
or rotary axes is provided; substituting rotary axis movement for
linear movements can optimize accuracy and reduce machining time.

Integrated Reverse Postprocessing

With the updated IMSconvert module IMSpost 7 now provides reverse
postprocessor capability for all CNC controls in the IMSpost library.
IMSconvert converts legacy ISO (g-code) between machine formats,
or to a neutral file format. Existing NC programs can be converted
to run on new machines without reverting to the CAD/CAM system.
