The Adept Quattro s650 robot utilizes a patented 4-link parallel drive and carbon fiber construction to provide packaging cycle times which are twice as fast as conventional packaging robots and up to 240 pick-and-place cycles per minute.
The Adept Quattro s650 robot is also the world's first packaging robot to integrate the controls inside the robot virtually eliminating external controls cabinets saving valuable factory floor space and simplifying installation.
Adept's industry leading SmartController platform provides fully integrated vision and conveyor tracking for up to 6 conveyors making the Quattro an ideal solution for high speed packaging applications in which products are randomly located on moving conveyor belts.
The Adept Quattro features over-the-belt mounting, a 1300 mm work envelope and 250 mm Z-stroke along with a wash down option for usage in sensitive manufacturing environments, which require frequent washing to prevent product contamination.
"The sheer performance of the Adept Quattro is incredible, however what makes the robot unique is the intelligence and simplicity that comes from its embedded fully integrated controls and vision platform," said Seema Gupta, Packaging Product Manager of Adept Technology. "The combination of Quattro's speed and the elimination of the complexity and expense of large external controls cabinets found in traditional packaging robots will bring a new level of throughput and flexibility to high speed packaging applications."
Adept demonstrated the Quattro at the ATX West 2007 show in Anaheim, California. The Adept Quattro s650 is available to order immediately.
