November 1, 2006 - SolidCAM, a leading and fast-growing supplier of integrated CAM Software solutions for the manufacturing industry, will present its newly introduced ver-sion SolidCAM2007 R11 at the Euromold exhibition in Frankfurt.
The focus of the Euromold presentation will be the new powerful module for High-Speed Machining (HSM) of complex 3D parts including molds, dies or aerospace com-ponents. The new module generates first-class toolpaths for High-Speed Cutting ma-chines and thus contributes to faster lead and production times, lower costs and im-proved quality in the toolshop. In addition, SolidCAM will demonstrate new functions for 2.5D Milling, including a new Thread Milling operation and powerful new functionality for the automatic feature recognition and machining of 2.5D pockets in Prismatic Parts. Also, important enhancements of the automatic feature recognition and machining of holes, including the support for tapping and reaming, will be shown. Responding espe-cially to the demands of Die & Mold customers, SolidCAM has added further enhance-ments to the WireEDM module. The User documentation and toolsheet output in R11 is now based on XML-format and is fully customizable. All SolidCAM functions are seam-lessly integrated into the 3D CAD mainstream system SolidWorks. The single-window user interface and the full associativity between the CAD model and NC toolpath guar-antees a short learning curve and an efficient flow from the 3D design model to the machined part.
Wolfgang Mueller, Vice President Sales Europe, stated: “Euromold is one of the most important exhibitions in Europe for SolidCAM. It not only covers manufacturing technologies like Milling, EDM and Turning, where we can offer a broad range of automation tools, but also shows complete process chains in moldmaking, rapid tooling or patternmaking, where the seamless integration of CAD and CAM is very important. This matches perfectly with our product concept, which is based on single window integration with the leading 3D design system SolidWorks.” He further commented, “We see an increasing demand for SolidCAM from the emerging countries in Eastern Europe, which will join the Euro currency system in 2007, and also from Central Europe, where we have recently doubled our sales and support facilities by the opening of two additional offices in Eastern and Southern Germany.“
