"The Active Wizard has provided multiple Documentum customers in pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, financial services, printing and other industries the ability to extend Documentum with dynamic forms and workflow," said Dave Giordano, founder and CEO of Technology Services Group. "As the first Open Source contribution to the certification program, Documentum customers can now leverage a certified application outside of the traditional commercial software cost model."
Active Wizard, an industrial strength form and workflow product, extends EMC Documentum capabilities by providing a unique wizard-type interface that presents users with straightforward questions and rules for creating and completing forms, initiating data driven workflow and completing workflow approvals. The Active Wizard can be accessed from Documentum Webtop(TM) or as a separate application. Benefits include easier navigation, more accurate responses, quicker approval and the flexibility to accommodate rapidly changing business needs.
OPEN SOURCE DRIVES INNOVATION AND REDUCES TOTAL COST OF OWNERSHIP
Previously only available as a commercial software application, the Active Wizard is now being deployed in an open source environment. "Within the Documentum developer community, we are all seeing the innovation Open Source components, including Tomcat and LINUX, bring to our Documentum solutions," said Ray Wijangco, Chief Technical Architect of Technology Services Group. "At TSG, we see Open Source as our primary method to innovate our solutions while reducing the cost of ownership to our Documentum user base."
"By providing Active Wizard as a packaged Open Source offering based on the EMC Documentum platform, TSG is taking a leadership position in the industry in the area of complimentary software for Documentum," said Paul Burian, Director ECM practice, Judge ECM and former co-founder of Doculabs. "The addition of robust OpenSource packages like the Active Wizard to the Documentum add-on market is something I am recommending all my clients consider."
The EMC Documentum Application Developer Program helps ISVs, VSPs and SIs target, design, develop and go-to-market with successful offerings based on the EMC Documentum platform. As a member, partners can submit their offering to be considered for "Designed for Documentum" accreditation, which ensures their offering has met all requirements to be certified on the Documentum platform.
