Bangalore August 14, 2006: Altair Engineering world leader in CAE software industry recently organized its annual 2nd Users Conference at The Leela Palace, Bangalore. Partnering with HP, Intel, SGI, the conference was dedicated to provide a unique opportunity for engineering analysts to showcase the application of simulation technology in their product development processes.
The increased proliferation of CAE usage as a virtual prototyping and validation tool reflected in the attendance of over 1000 CAE engineering professionals/analysts from all over the country. Companies like GE India Technology Centre, Mahindra & Mahindra, Motorola Electronics-Singapore, Tata Motors, TVS Motors, Eicher Motors, Larsen & Toubro Ltd., Ashok Leyland, Whirlpool of India, ADA (Aeronautical Development Agency) presented papers at this event.
The Conference focused on innovative applications of HyperWorks [Altair’s integrated suite of tools for product design] and LS-DYNA [Livermore Software Technology Corporation’s general-purpose transient dynamic finite element program that is extensively used in various industries including Automobile design, Aerospace, Manufacturing and Bioengineering].
Keynote presentations from Leading Industry leaders discussed about driving innovation through effective use of simulation technologies. A further key feature of the Users Conference was the advanced CAE training workshops for HyperWorks and LS-DYNA users on Modelling and Visualisation, Manufacturing Simulation, LS-DYNA applications for Aerospace and Automotive, Multi Body dynamics and Optimisation enabled product development process. Along with parallel seminars focusing on Engineering Design Outsourcing, Role of CAE in Engineering Education and Grid Computing seminar for Competitive advantage.

Best paper award in application of Optimization (HyperWorks) technology within the product development was presented to Proton, Malaysia whilst the best paper award for use of LS-DYNA was won by Godrej Toolroom.
