Schott Systeme Maintains No Price Increase Policy

Schott Systeme in 11th Year With No CAD/CAM Price Increase

Maintaining a policy of not increasing the cost of their CAD/CAM software ‘Pictures by PC’, German software developer Schott Systeme have recently announced both a price freeze for the 11th year running, in addition to continuing not to charge for yearly maintenance and support. Somewhat unique within the CAD/CAM software world, Schott Systeme cite this as being a key driver in helping their customers keep costs low and companies competitive.

With the majority of CAD/CAM systems typically having a yearly maintenance/support cost of somewhere between 15%-25% of the original software purchase price, this presents quite a considerable saving for Schott Systeme customers. The company is also keen to point out that all machine post processors (3 axis and 3+2 axis) come free of charge, in addition to a range of elearning projects so customers can learn the software themselves.

Design and Graphics - 2,800

For designers and anyone working in graphics, this means the 3D design version of ‘Pictures by PC’ remains at 2,800. Already having seen the inclusion of a new rendering and animation suite this year, the solution includes graphic design and professional fontwork, 2D mechanical CAD, 3D mechanical and conceptual solid design, freeform surface design, moldtool creation and project structure management.

Full Design and Machining - 9,800

Including the 3D modeller above in addition to their 3D ‘exchange’ package, the full CAD/CAM system includes 2.5D prismatic milling and drilling, 3D freeform milling, 3+2axis pre positioned machining, engraving and CAM feature recognition. WireEDM, turning and 5 axis simultaneous modules are purchased separately.

About Schott Systeme GmbH

Over 25 years old, Schott Systeme remain as one of the very first CAD/CAM software companies, and one of only a few to continue developing the same solution over this time. Aside from the typical CAD and CAM features, the company is seen more as an innovator within the ‘graphics’ field, applying ‘graphics’ to every aspect of a company from presentations through to project management and lastly design.
