IBM Grows Faster Than Other Vendors In x86 Server Shipments For Q1 2006

ARMONK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 19, 2006 -- In a preliminary report, Gartner, Inc. reported that IBM grew its worldwide x86 server units faster than major vendors (the top five) in first quarter 2006, with unit growth of 22.6 percent -- more than twice as great as the nearest competitor. (1)

"IBM showed the strongest unit growth among the top five vendors, with an increase of 22.6 percent," according to the report. "This translated to a unit share increase from 13.3 percent in 1Q05 to 14.1 percent in 1Q06."
