LAKE FOREST, CA January 7, 2005 In a move to focus even greater resources on serving customers in the rapidly changing engraving, sign making, jewelry design and CAD/CAM industries, Roland DGA Corporation has launched a new strategic business unit.

Roland Advanced Solutions Division (ASD) is a new business unit dedicated to helping customers meet their unique challenges. "We are small, fast and responsive,” said Gerald Hiller, Roland ASD general manager. “Our mission is to provide tailored-made solutions that satisfy the ever-changing needs of our entrepreneurial customers."

As a division of Roland DGA Corporation, Roland ASD offers a wide variety of popular products built with superior quality and performance. Products include CX series vinyl cutters, EGX series engravers, MDX series milling machines, LPX series laser scanners, and the MPX-60 photo impact printer.

"We support every product with a highly experienced dealer network," said Hiller. "Our dealers have years of real-world experience using Roland products, and they represent an invaluable resource for customers well beyond the initial sale."

Engraving Solutions
Loaded with high-speed and high-precision technologies, Roland ASD engravers produce everything from custom awards to ADA signage to personalized jewelry. These innovative devices combine remarkable versatility and ease of use with unsurpassed value. Devices include EGX series engravers, the RX-50 spiral axis engraver and the MPX-60 photo impact printer. Each one is backed by the best support in the industry and comes bundled with a complete suite of powerful software.

Cut Vinyl Solutions
Roland CAMM-1 vinyl cutters produce crisp, eye-catching graphics with speed and precision. They represent a cost-effective way to produce outdoor-durable banners, vehicle art, store displays, informational signs, backlit displays and almost any other type of durable custom graphics.

CAD/CAM Solutions
Roland ASD is a worldwide leader in 3D input and output devices for CAD/CAM applications. 3D laser scanners, powerful reverse modeling software and Subtractive Rapid Prototyping milling devices let engineers scan, design and prototype parts right on their desktop.

Roland 3D laser scanners provide a complete reverse modeling solution with superior scan quality and ease of use. The Roland LPX-1200 and LPX-250 are ideal for a wide range of CAD applications. Examples include scanning mobile phones to facilitate the design of blister packaging and scanning hand-sculpted aliens for feature animation.

By starting with a solid object and rapidly subtracting material away, SRP technology enables industrial and mechanical designers to produce prototypes with superior form, fit and function. Roland MDX Series milling devices use SRP technology to mill prototypes of everything from toothbrushes to cell phone casings to action figures.

Roland Advanced Solutions Division
Launched in 2005, Roland Advanced Solutions Division (ASD) develops solutions for the rapid prototyping, reverse modeling, engraving, jewelry design and sign making industries. The new company serves customers throughout North and South America with cutting-edge technologies and skilled dealers.
